On August 30th, the Thai-American 2PM member Nichkhun was fined 4 million KRW (about $3,500 at press time) in a summary indictment by the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol.
According to the Prosecutors’ Office, Nichkhun allegedly drove a Volkswagen Golf under the influence of alcohol in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul at around 2:45am on July 24th.
Driving through an intersection without a light, Nichkhun got into an accident with a motorcycle entering from the right-hand side which brought to light the fact that he was driving under the influence. At the time, Nichkhun’s blood alcohol level was at 0.056% which would result in the suspension of the driver’s license.
The Prosecutors’ office explained, “Nichkhun came to an agreement with the victim and the injuries were not severe and the (blood alcohol) level was not high so it resulted in a summary indictment. He was not called in for questioning.”
